LaCie Ethernet Big Disk Problems (UPDATED:CLOSED) E-mail

To date, I've been a big fan of this device. For about 300 bucks it lets you hang a terabyte of storage on your network. Well... at least until the HD crashed. That's my current assessment as the drive makes the tell tale clicking noises when booting.

Enter LaCIE support. In time, we'll see how well they do... look for a report... and potentially a review of this product soon.

LaCie support seems to think it's a power problem... so they're sending me a new power supply free of charge. I'm not sure I agree with the diagnosis, but we'll give it a try. More to come....

UPDATE

Well... chalk one up for LaCie. Their support was right on. After a couple of postings related to the issue, the support person correctly determined that I had a bad power supply. As the unit was under warranty, they sent one out immediately and it worked perfectly.

Kudos to LaCie! They're in my good graces again.
