Google Chrome (BETA) Released E-mail

Google ChromeSo... Google has thrown their hat into the ring with a brand new browser, Google Chrome. This is going to make things most interesting to watch as we move forward. Microsoft's IE already has serious competition from the primary tier in Firefox and Apple's Safari.. and now Google is in the running. We expect Chrome to immediately take users away from IE while having minimal effect on the rest of the browser community.

Internet standards have always been the root of Google's products and development efforts. It's likely that Google Chrome will increase the user base running true, standards compliant browsers. In theory, this should make website development easier and more consistent. Even Microsoft has jumped on this bandwagon by announcing that IE 8.x will be more standards compliant. That remains to be seen, though.

We do, however, have to wonder what Google is doing with all of the potential for end user data here. Google does has a privacy policy that should help you weed out and tune the browser to protect your rights. Take a close look and come up with some internal policies before widespread deployment of this browser.

A Mac version is also promised, yet not currently available.

As always, NEVER deploy beta software as it's bound to have problems.
